No matter how tough things may seem, there is hope and guidance available. I am here to hold space and walk with you through these times. It's okay to feel lost or overwhelmed, but it's important to reach out for help and support. You are not alone in this journey, and we are here to guide you towards your light.
End of Life Doula Rae - Founder
My name is Rae and I am an INELDA trained end of life doula. I serve individuals and their families nearing the end of life with a multitude of services and skills.
I have a medical background as a retired licensed paramedic working 911 calls for over 10 years. Additionally, I was a certified nurses aid and worked in skilled nursing facilities prior to becoming a paramedic. Both professions gave me very up close and personal experience with those at the end of their lives. However, what was most impactful was seeing residents of the nursing homes die alone. Most often they were scared, confused, and lonely. I sat at many bedsides holding a hand or wiping a brow because I didn’t know how else to help but there was deep feeling in my heart and spirit that no one should have to be alone, afraid, and in pain in their last days.
A few years ago, after a couple of deeply personal experiences with loved ones at the end of their lives, I felt compelled to become an end of life doula. It is my desire to help individuals and their families nearing the end of their lives find meaning, dignity, compassion, peace, and joy. I want my clients to truly live and love right up to the end.
During my journey in healthcare and while training to become a doula, I realized that many individuals are alone and don’t have reliable system of support when they get sick and injured. I can be a supportive guide and companion throughout your journey as a non-medical healthcare companion. I can be there for those who may need extra support while going through treatments and/or recovery.
